From zine-making to painting, my workshops are all about creativity, self-expression, and a low-pressure environment where process matters more than perfection. Whether we’re exploring queer theory through collage, or just having the craic with a paintbrush and a pint, these sessions are designed to be welcoming, hands-on, and fun. I’ve taught in hubs, galleries, and over Zoom, no experience ever needed, just a bit of curiosity.

Explore Queer Identity and Creativity Through Zine Making

June 27 2025, Matheson Creativity Hub

This beginner-friendly workshop offered participants a space to explore queer theory and self-expression through the history and practice of zines. I introduced zines as a nonconforming, DIY art form rooted in queer and punk traditions, before leading the group in creating their own. Together, we embraced cut-and-paste experimentation and made space for weird, personal, and joyful creations, reinforcing the idea that anyone can make a zine, and that process matters more than perfection.Open to all, the evening celebrated both community and creativity.

Queer Expression Through Zine Making

October 18, 2024, Dublin Pride Hub

In this 2.5-hour workshop, I guided participants through the radical, playful world of zine-making as a tool for queer expression. Held at the Dublin Pride Hub, the session combined hands-on collage with a discussion on how zines and queer theory overlap, from disrupting norms to prioritising accessibility and anti-mainstream storytelling. We created in a low-pressure, welcoming space where identity and imagination could run wild, no prior art experience needed. Everyone left with their own handmade zine and (hopefully) a little spark of inspiration.

I always prioritise a sense of fun, curiosity, and low-pressure creativity, encouraging participants to explore expression through process rather than worrying about polished results.

During my time teaching with Paint by the Pints, I ran multiple beginner-friendly painting sessions built around fun, creativity, and community. These classes were all about enjoying the process over chasing perfection, something that still guides my teaching today. I learned so much from working with their brilliant team.
